Descarga latina y orquestal en el IX Festival de Jazz de Melilla
La CREATIVA Big Band Latina protagoniza la clausura de uno de los certámenes más comprometidos con las formaciones nacionales.
Era el tercer concierto de esta orquesta con sangre cubana asociada a la Escuela de Música Creativa de Madrid, y que tiene como líderes e ideólogos al pianista PEPE RIVERO y al saxofonista y flautista BOBBY MARTÍNEZ.
La Big Band cuenta con una poderosa sección de vientos, compuesta por tres líneas de trompetas, trombones y saxofones. Interpretan temas de su propia cosecha, más algún que otro clásico orquestado como Night in Tunisia - el conocido título que universalizara el gran Dizzy Gillespie -, pero su voz colectiva siempre destaca por los eficaces arreglos que aportan sus dos patrones. Además de ellos, entre sus filas también sobresalen valiosos intérpretes, como el trombonista William Paredes o el trompetista Antonio Ximénez, que dejaron huella de su particular músculo creativo.
La suya es una descarga de jazz latino con felices y pronunciadas aristas orquestales, fraseos que se buscan y se doblan, y resoluciones que se enmarcan dentro de la mejor tradición de las big bands.
Tras estrenarse el pasado año junto al saxofonista y clarinetista PAQUITO D`RIVERA, el grupo anda ahora tras la grabación de su primer disco, que debería ser plato reñido en todas las cocinas de la industria discográfica del jazz.

The CREATIVA Big Band Latina heads one of the supporting jazz festivals for national bands. 
This was the third concert of this big band with cuban blood associated to the Escuela de Música Creativa de Madrid, and whom the band leaders and ideologists are the pianist PEPE RIVERO and the saxofonist / flutist BOBBY MARTINEZ.
The big band counts with a powerful brass and woodwinds sections which are 4 trumpets, 4 trombones and 5 saxes. They play original music and some classics like Night in Tunisia - a well known title made famous by Dizzy Gillespie - but the band`s collective sound of the excitements arrangements that come from the 2 leaders. Asides from them, the band counts with valuables musicians in all fields, like William Paredes on trombon or Antonio Ximénez on trumpet, that left powerful and muscular creative riffs.
The music is a Latin Jam of joyful and firery peaks, phrases that looked for and doubleded, and resolutions that are marked in the old traditional big
band `s way.
After the big band debut with Paquito D`Rivera last year, the band is now recording their first CD, and should be a delight dish in all menus of the music industry related to jazz.
